Metal Gear Solid 4 better be good...
It's been a couple of years since Sony released the PS3, and unbelievably, we all are STILL WAITING for the system's juggernaut titles. You know... the games that are 100% exclusive to Sony, and are supposed to represent what the system can do. The games that we have been watching pre-rendered cut-scenes of since the time when E3 still had titties. Now don't murder us yet, we do realize there have been some decent distractions, but we have yet to really hit pay-dirt. Yes, Ratchet & Clank was a welcomed surprise, but that's hardly why you bought your PS3.
Now I do have to hand it to Sony fans... they are a patient bunch. I can't imagine buying a system only to have it sit there for 2 years before I could play a signature AAA franchise title. Can you imagine what the sales would be like for Xbox 360 if we were still waiting for Gears of War and Halo 3? What a joke. As of now, the PS3 has no soul, but that is soon about to change.
After years of waiting, the scent of AAA exclusive(?) glory is finally wafting into our noses. The first full-blown juggernaut title to hit the PS3 will be Metal Gear Solid 4 (No, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue doesn't count. The way that game is shaping up, it's no wonder Sony decided to take a full extra year to polish it).
MGS4 has the big-box game review sites salivating, and it appears as though this game might actually live up to the hype. I certainly hope it does, as with Sony AAA exclusives few and far between, this game has the potential to make or break the PS3 as a viable alternative to the Xbox 360. If MGS4 isn't good enough to move a significant amount of PS3 units, 3rd party developers will have even less incentive for producing PS3 exclusives, which would really make for a bumpy PS3 future.
As much as I'd like to play Little Big Planet over Xbox Live, I still want my PS3 to be more than just a Blu-ray player...
We at TrustyGamer believe a LOT hinges upon the success of Metal Gear Solid 4. Are you guys as worried as we are?

Worried? You are not worried. You are happy with the situation as it is.
